Chris Huston-BandGeekRecords Having high expectations for this record - as the follow up to As Above, So Below - I was not disappointed. Cannot remember the last time I had to rewind a record on the first listen to figure out ‘what did I just hear? what did they just do and how?’

Great record, love the mix, and all the nuances in every track. Perfect amount of production and raw energy. Will be expecting more great tunes from Dead Sun Rising. Favorite track: Constellations.

You will not survive the sanctity of life. You wield like a knife the bed in which you lie. And you just can't shake the feeling you know your fate. And it's already too late; you can't be saved.

Slumber 04:49
Even while you sleep on the way back home, wrested from the deep and bathed in monochrome... You will find your eyes swallowed by your tongue and nestled in the deep recesses of your lungs. The silence when you speak is deafening and full and pounds into the deep recesses of your skull.

We saw the signs calling for your blood in wavering lights shining from above and it was over. Our path was set. Our gods smiled down on what we had done when it was over: Obedient pets.
6.
Slough 02:55
All we are is dressed in light as refracted in our eyes. Go, save yourself and thrive. The sun refused to shine, the flora did subside, and the fauna had all died. The moon disowned the tide. O' Earth, open wide and cast us all aside.

about

Dead Sun Rising Chicago, Illinois

Dead Sun Rising is a post metal band from Chicago consisting of Eric Carley (guitar / vocals), Nick Willis (bass), and Jeff Dale (drums). We work really hard at not being a metal band but kind of still are. I mean we do love skulls and olde englishe fonts so we're not doing ourselves any favors there but, still...we try sometimes. ... more
